Guidelines For Class Sessions
- Attend class regularly, and always be on time.
- If you are late, request instructor's permission to join the class. If you must leave early, ask permission before leaving.
- Use the restroom or get a drink of water before class or during a break provided by the instructor. Avoid interrupting normal class time.
- There should be no talking or playing while class is in session.
- Whenever adjusting your uniform, turn around to face the rear of the Dojang. Do not worry about your uniform when you are supposed to be training or listening.
- The proper way to sit in the Dojang is legs crossed, back straight, with fists on the knees.
- When you address an instructor or higher belt, speak respectfully, using "Sir" or "Ma'am."
- Always keep your mind on training. Eliminate all distractions, especially doubt or fear.
- Always push yourself to your limits to develop endurance and concentration. Never show weariness or give up.
- Students must train with dedication and seriousness, while having the patience to learn the correct techniques.
- Always feel free to ask questions or discuss problems with any instructor or black belt. If an instructor is the problem, please consult another.
Guidelines For Behavior Outside the Dojang
- You are expected to have proper manners and be respectful to people in position of authority, especially parents, equal to what you show to instructors and higher belts in the Dojang.
- A main goal for Martial Arts is to set a good example to others by your behavior, character, and manners.
- Never use your training for bullying or showing off. Any student or instructor found to be using Tae Kwon Do in an aggressive or offensive manner may be expelled from the school.
- When confronted by someone, always use your head first. Use Martial Arts as a last resort to protect yourself. Otherwise, you may get sued or jailed.
- Try to practice techniquest often at home to polish your skills.
